Hands Launches 'KNOTION by Nika Zupanc' at ID India Design MumbaiOn Friday, 27th September, Hands launched an iconic new carpet collection at ID India Design Mumbai, made in collaboration with Nika Zupanc, a celebrated visionary in contemporary design.

 

 

 

 

 Visitors to the Hands booth had the exclusive opportunity to experience the collection first-hand – ten exquisite, contemporary carpets hand knotted in botanical silk, each inspired by the intricate beauty of knots.

“For me, it was a great inspiration to deeply understand the history and origins ofHands, their traditions, goals, and vision. Based on this research and talks, I cameup with a concept where, in essence, I wanted to translate the knot as anessential building block of a silk carpet into a much larger scale. This simple act offastening two ropes became a creative exploration into geometry, pattern, form,and scale.” - Nika Zupanc

 

 

 The Carpets

 

Characterised by a delightful interplay of lines and curves and accentuated by a joyful colour palette, each of the ten carpets in the collection draws inspiration from the intricate beauty of diverse road knots and turns, symbolising the metaphorical journey of life. Every piece has a unique character, defined by a contemporary, almost pop flavour. 

 

                   

 The Reception

The launch of the collection drew a diverse audience, including architects, designhouses, journalists, and celebrities. Attendees were captivated by the rugs, manyof whom described them as "stunning" and "exceptional." The tactile beauty of the carpets, combined with their strong contemporary design language, garnered high praise and admiration.
